Fans are rightfully ecstatic, and the anime has set the film up nicely, leaving fans with a ton of questions concerning Tanjiro’s lineage, Muzan’s whereabouts, and other things concerning this world that will only fuel their desire to watch the film once it drops. But in the amount of time between its release and the last Demon Slayer episode was released, fans might have forgotten several important things that they should commit to memory before watching Mugen Train.
10. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, And Inosuke Have Improved Their Total Concentration Breathing Technique
Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke proved themselves as strong Demon Slayers through their battles with powerful Demons that they managed to live through.
During their stay at the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, they undertook training to improve their Total Concentration Breathing technique, meaning that the trio can do battle against stronger Demons than they could before. Fans should be aware that the Tanjiro they’ll see in Mugen Train won’t be the same Tanjiro they’ve seen in the anime.
9. There’s Already A Demon On The Train
Season 1 of Demon Slayer concluded with Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke getting on a train as they venture out to rendez vous with the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku. Of course, the title of the upcoming Demon Slayer film reveals that there will be a major conflict on a train, but this was teased even before a single trailer was dropped for Mugen Train.
In the anime’s 25th episode, there’s a brief scene of a Demon attacking a woman on a train (most likely the same one Tanjiro and the others will be riding). This means that their ride will be far from an easy one, and they’ll most likely have their hands filled with Demons who have decided to make the train passengers their next meal.
8. Enmu Successfully Received More Of Muzan’s Blood
After the deaths of Kyogai and Rui, two Demons belonging to the Lower Ranks of the Twelve Kizuki, Muzan decided to kill the remaining lower-ranking Kizuki, viewing the entire bunch as a disappointment. He proceeded to do so without mercy, but spared Enmu, giving him more of his blood than a Lower Ranking Kizuki would normally possess.
Enmu managed to survive the transfusion, meaning that his power has skyrocketed, most likely making him one of the strongest Demons fans will see in action yet.
7. Muzan Promised Enmu More Blood If He Can Kill Tanjiro
While Tanjiro’s family’s backstory is still largely a mystery, it’s clear that he comes from a lineage of powerful Demon Slayers, one of whom almost killed Muzan. Muzan is so scarred by his encounter with someone from Tanjiro’s family that he promised Enmu more blood if he can kill Tanjiro specifically.
This obviously sets up a confrontation between Tanjiro and Enmu, which will most likely be the moment he puts his Total Concentration Breathing training to the test. Given how much demons desire blood, especially from someone like Muzan, Enmu will most likely pull out all the stops in order to take out Tanjiro before his comrades.
6. Tanjiro Used A Fire Breathing Technique
None of Tanjiro’s Water Breathing techniques worked against Rui’s powerful thread-based attacks, but after being backed into a corner, he debuted the Hinokami Kagura, a unique Breathing Style that he learned from his father. This was a shock to fans and Rui alike, given that Tanjiro used exclusively Water Breathing techniques before this moment.
Tanjiro was able to tap into this Fire Breathing technique during what looked like his final moments, meaning that for him, he may only be able to access these dormant skills when he’s left with no other option.
5. Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art
Given that Nezuko scarcely leaves Tanjiro’s side (or his back, rather), she’ll definitely make an appearance in Mugen Train and will find herself in battle with a powerful Demon alongside Tanjiro.
He would’ve lost his fight against Rui without her Blood Demon Art, Exploding Blood, which turns her own blood into searing flames. It’s almost a given that she’ll tap into this ability (or other ones that just haven’t yet been displayed) in Mugen Train.
4. Flame Breathing And Fire Breathing Are Two Different Things
The technique that Tanjiro used in his fight against Rui was a Fire Breathing technique, but the Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho informed him that Fire Breathing isn’t the same as Flame Breathing.
Flame Breathing is what the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, specializes in. This distinction means that Tanjiro’s father was aware of techniques that not even the Hashiras have access to.
3. Shinobu Recommended Tanjiro For This Mission
After witnessing Tanjiro’s commitment to the Demon Slayer Corps through his training and after hearing his and Nezuko‘s story, Shinobu’s feelings towards him began to change for the better. After he informed her of the Fire Breathing technique that he used during his fight with Rui, it was Shinobu who recommended him for his mission involving Kyojuro.
She voiced her reasoning to the Demon Slayer Corps leader, stating that she believed that Kyojuro could perhaps provide Tanjiro some guidance. While it may not be obvious to fans, Shinobu might have spotted similarities in the two that would make them a good match for one another.
2. The Average Person Doesn’t Know The Truth About Demons Or The Demon Slayer Corps
When Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke arrived at the train station, they were nearly apprehended by authorities who were spooked by the fact that they brandished swords in broad daylight. Zenitsu explained that the Demon Slayer Corps isn’t officially recognized by the government and that if they tried to explain it, along with the existence of Demons, they wouldn’t be believed.
This means that Tanjiro and the others may run into a bit of trouble when trying to take down Demons on a train filled with passengers that know nothing about the dark truth of their world.
1. Kyojuro Rengoku Upholds The Demon Corps’s Rules Without Question
Like most of the Hashiras, Kyojuro had no problem with killing Tanjiro and Nezuko after learning that Tanjiro had been harboring a Demon. Kyojuro refused to hear Tanjiro out, and even witnessing proof that Nezuko was an ally, he still held true to the Demon Corps’s rules concerning the execution of those who protect any kind of Demon.
This most likely means that he’s just as much of a stickler as some of his comrades, and he might even harbor some distrust towards Tanjiro given the fact that he’ll be traveling with Nezuko in Mugen Train. His respect for the rules might just lead to some contention between him and Tanjiro.
